Mission and History

Our Mission

To meticulously document and publish biographical accounts of outstanding personalities, preserving their stories for current and future generations. We are committed to gathering valuable oral histories, exploring tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and conducting research that informs policy and enriches societal understanding.

Our vision is to cultivate a literate, vibrant, proud, and patriotic society that recognizes and rewards excellent work and optimal performance. As we continue our journey, we aspire to inspire positive values, promote cultural heritage, and foster a deep sense of appreciation for the diverse tapestry of Ugandan societies.

Our History

Back in 2001, Baltimore was one gritty city when it came to highest ethical standards and practices.

Our Journey

FBI was founded in Uganda with a vision to fill the void in the literary appreciation of influential and transformative personalities, both alive and deceased. Established by Dr. Kayiso Fulgencio Mawanda, a bilingual Ugandan scholar with a profound passion for preserving the legacy of unsung heroes, FBI has a rich history dating back to 2006.

Early Initiatives

Our journey began with the coordination of a biography project at the Centre of African Christian Studies (CACISA) in 2006, funded by DKA-Austria. This project, focused on Christian religious leaders in Uganda, laid the foundation for FBI's commitment to recognizing remarkable individuals.

Formalization and Growth

To professionalize our services, Dr. Mawanda registered FBI as a private company, dedicated to the research, writing, and marketing of biographies. Over the years, we've expanded our scope, delving into diverse fields and collaborating with individuals and organizations passionate about preserving Uganda's cultural and historical tapestry.

Influence and Advocacy:

From our early involvement in coordinating the Uganda National Dialogue (UND) to contributing to the advocacy, capacity-building, and networking initiatives at the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda, FBI has played a vital role in influencing public policy and fostering positive change.
